Fernando Marante (Matosinhos, Portugal, 1973), lives and works in Lisbon and is a visual artist whose experimental work explores the representation attribute of photography.

Fernando Marante (Matosinhos, Portugal, 1973), lives and works in Lisbon and is a visual artist whose experimental work explores the representation attribute of photography. He concluded, in 2017, the Advanced Studies on Photography course at Ar.Co – Centro de Arte & Comunicação Visual, where he won two scholarships, sponsored by Leonor and António Parreira and by the Fundação Victor e Graça Carmona e Costa. He’s being showing his work in collective and individual exhibitions like Bienal de Fotografia de Vila Franca de Xira and Bienal de Cerveira. He was a finalist in the Carpe Diem Millennium BCP young artists award in 2018. In 2019 he was a finalist in the Descubrimientos Photoespaña section and one of the winner of Paris Photo Carte Blanche Étudiants awards.
