Mafalda Santos (PT, born in 1980) Graduated in Painting from the Porto Fine Arts Faculty. From 2002 to 2007, she was the programmer at the independent venue PêSSEGOpráSEMANA, in Porto. Her work has been shown regularly since 2001. In 2007/2008 she received a grant from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD) to do a residency at Location One, in New York City. She was one of the shortlisted at the EDP New Artists award in 2007. Between 2013 and 2018, alongside Manuel Mesquita, Mafalda Santos managed an artistic residencies programme at the Moinho da Fonte Santa in Alandroal, Portugal (Alentejo). Co-founder of the project Pessoa Colectiva with Susana Gaudêncio, responsible for collective art projects and publications since 2012. Her work can be found in several public collections including that of the EDP, António Cachola, Norlinda and José Lima, PLMJ and Ilídio Pinho Foundations, the RAR Group,and the contemporary art collections of Lisbon Town Hall and Porto Town Hall.
