Ana Cristina Cachola

Ana Cristina Cachola is an independent curator and writes about contemporary art for several outlets. Founded, with Daniela Agostinho and JoanaMayer, the Pipi Colonial Collective. She holds a PhD in Culture Studies from the Catholic University of Portugal. In 2011 she was awarded a stipend to conduct her doctoral research, and in 2017 was awarded a stipend to conduct her post-doc, both by the Foundation for Science and Technology. She is an investigator in the CECC – Center of Comunication and Culture Studies of the Catholic University of Portugal, institution where she is a professor since 2010. In the last years, she taught several classes in the in the MA and PhD program in Culture Studies at the Lisbon Consortium. She is co-founder of Diffractions – Graduate Journal for the Study of Culture, and a member of the Research Centre for Communication and Culture (CECC). She is also investigator and curator at the European Cooperation project 4Cs: from Conflict to Conviviality through Creativity and Culture, a project co-funded by the European Commission through Creative Europe, and lead by Universidade Católica Portuguesa. In the last years she was the curator of exhibitions by Rita GT, Binelde Hyrcan, João Onofre, Aimée Zito Lema, amongst others. // Ana Cristina Cachola é curadora independente e escreve regularmente para publicações artísticas e académicas. Fundou, com Daniela Agostinho e Joana Mayer, o colectivo Pipi Colonial. É doutorada em Estudos de Cultura pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Em 2011, obteve uma bolsa individual de doutoramento da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia. E em 2017 obteve uma bolsa individual de pós-doutoramento, da mesma Fundação. É investigadora no Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Cultura da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, instituição em que, desde 2010, é professora. Nos últimos anos tem leccionado diferentes disciplinas nos programas de Mestrado e Doutoramento em Estudos de Cultura no Lisbon Consortium (Universidade Católica de Portugal). É editora-fundadora da Diffractions – Graduate Journal for the Study of Culture, e também investigadora e curadora do Projecto de Cooperação Europeia: 4Cs - do Conflito à Convivialidade através da Criatividade e da Cultura, apoiado pela Comissão Europeia no quadro da Europa Criativa, subprograma Cultura, e coordenado pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Nos últimos anos foi curadora de exposições de Rita GT, Binelde Hyrcan, João Onofre, Aimée Zito Lema, entre outras.
