João Biscainho (Portalegre, 1979) His work as an artist and curator has focused on issues centered with technology, hertezian space, new media and cultural studies. He holds a degree in Painting (Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, 2006) and a Master's degree in Museology (Universidade Nova de Lisboa, 2012) with the thesis "Cinema Experience": Exhibition and Conservation. In search of the"authentic perfomance" (a research on time-based-media conservation). Between 2012 and 2017 he was Assistant Curator at the Leal Rios Foundation. In 2009 he created the first contemporary art guide in Portugal - Gate Galleries, a project he directed until the end of 2011 at Imagegate, having Diário Económico as media partner. As an artist, he has been exhibiting his work since 2006 in individual and collective shows, such as: "Future Nothingness" (SE8 Gallery, 2017), "Lust & Luxuria - The Red Velvet Curtain Cult" (Whitechapel Art Gallery, 2008); "2 Stages" (CAE Portalegre, 2007); "White Shadows" (Lugar Comum, 2007) and at the gallery Luís Serpa Projectos (between 2006 and 2012).
