(bio in english in the end) Xana nasce em Lisboa em 1959. Licenciado em Artes Plásticas pela Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa em 1984, ano em que passa a residir em Lagos no Algarve. Nessa cidade desenvolve, desde 1995, com outros artistas, o projecto LAC - Laboratório de Artes Visuais. É co-autor do projecto de Licenciatura em Artes Visuais da Universidade do Algarve onde é professor convidado desde 2004. Doutorado em Comunicação Cultura e Artes pela UAlg em 2019. Como artista visual realizou desde 1981 diversas exposições, cenografias ou intervenções em espaços públicos. Em 2005 a Culturgest, em Lisboa, apresentou uma selecção antológica das suas obras, intitulada "Arte Opaca e Outros Fantasmas". Nos últimos anos tem centrado o seu trabalho artístico na criação de instalações/construções temporárias de arte pública. Nesse âmbito destaca-se a construção, em 2009, de um grande “Arco do Triunfo” no Passeio de Gràcia em Barcelona. Apresentou em 2010, nos jardins da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, a instalação "Assembleia", integrada na exposição “Res Publica”. Em 2012 realizou no Museu do Chiado” a instalação “Nova Assembleia e algumas próteses”. Constrói na primavera de 2012, no Parque de Escultura Contemporânea Almourol, Vila Nova da Barquinha, a intervenção escultórica “Uma Casa no Céu”. Realizou a instalação "Amor Libera Lux" no âmbito da iniciativa "Vicente' 2013" em Belém, Lisboa. Em 2016 realiza realiza intervenções no espaço público do Algarve, em Mexilhoeira(Portimão), Messines(Silves), Alte (Loulé) e Alportel no âmbito do projecto “Watt?” (org. LAC e Fundação EDP) Iniciou com “Labirinto X001” (2017), no Teatro da Politécnica/Artistas Unidos em Lisboa, uma série de construções de temática labiríntica. Xana está representado em diversos museus e colecções públicas, nomeadamente: o Museu de Serralves no Porto, Kunstlerhaus-Musonturm em Frankfurt, a Fundação Luso-Americana e Centro de Arte Moderna da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian em Lisboa. 
Mais informação em www.xana.tv XANA (small bio in english) : Xana was born in Lisbon in 1959 and graduated in Fine Arts on Escola Superior de Belas-Artes, Lisbon, in 1984. He co-authored the project for a Graduation Degree in Visual Arts at the University of Algarve, where he is a visiting professor since 2004. Since 1981, as a visual artist, he has presented several exhibitions, set designs and interventions in public spaces. In 2005, at Culturgest, in Lisbon, he presented a selection of his works entitled: ‘Arte Opaca e Outros Fantasmas’. He participated in numerous collective exhibitions, among which the various group exhibitions by Homeostética, a group that was the subject of a retrospective in 2004, at the Museu de Serralves.  Over the past years, he has focused his artistic work in the creation of public art installations or temporary constructions. In this context, are of note: the construction, in 2009, of a large Triumphal Arch in Paseo de Gràcia in Barcelona. In 2010, in the gardens of Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, the installation ‘Assembleia’, integrated in the exhibition ‘ResPublica’. From February to June 2012, the installation ‘New Assembleia and somo próteses’ was presented at the Museu do Chiado. In 2013 created the "Love Libera Lux" installation under the "Vincent '13" initiative in Belém, Lisbon. During the spring and summer of 2012 he made a permanent sculptural intervention, ‘A House in the Sky’, at the Sculpture Park in Almourol, Vila Nova da Barquinha, Portugal. “Labyrinth X001” (2017) is the title of it’s last artistic installation realized in the Theater of the Polytechnic/Artistas Unidos in Lisbon, with the use of diverse sound electronic devices and industrial objects . Xana is represented in many museums and public collections, including: Museu de Serralves, in Porto; Künstlerhaus-Musonturm, in Frankfurt; Fundação Luso-Americana, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian and MAAT / Fundação EDP, in Lisbon.
