Jean-François Krebs was born in 1987 in Metz, France. He lived in China (Xiangfan) for three years as a child, and grew up as a teenager in Paris and Maisons-Laffitte. He studied in Ecole d'Horticulture du Breuil in Paris, in Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland, and in Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Paysage de Versailles, France. He spent a year in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2017, where he studied in the Independent study program Maumaus, and was the first resident of the Tomaz Hipolito's studio. He also participated in the Arteles residency, Finland. He is currently doing an exchange in Malmö Art Academy, Sweden. He co-organised and performed in the Scottish Poetry Library event "The Library is Open ! : Drag Queen Poems" which won the Edinburgh Creativity Award 2016. He was part of the Hidden Door Festival, the European Literature Night in the Fruitmarket Gallery, and performed in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2015 and 2016. In 2018 he presented the show Vazamento in TH Studio, was part of the group exhibition Désirer un coin de soi-même inconnu, in Galerie du Granit de Belfort, France, and is preparing the 8ème Biennale Internationale d'Art Contemporain de Melle, France, which will take place this summer.
