Salomé Lopes (1998, Almada) lives and works in Lisbon. She holds a BA in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts University of Lisbon (PT, 2020) and also studied at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (DE, 2019). Her work consists of research based projects often materialised through installations, combining media such as sculpture, drawing, video and sound. Her work reflects on the human relationship with myths, on how narratives are created and how they affect our perceptions of reality, from ancient to contemporary times. Salomé exhibits her work regularly since 2018, highlighting the solos shows: ’Broken Gateway to the Impossible’, Hinterconti, curated by Judith Hofer, Hamburg (DE, 2023); ’Palimpsesto’, Solar dos Zagallos, Almada (PT, 2022); and ’A noite e os dias’, Egeu, Lisbon (PT, 2019); and the group shows: (upcoming) ’Taking the light out of the prism’, OGFE, curated by Susana Rocha, Lisbon (PT, 2023); ’Pearl Divers and Storytellers’, Duplex AIR, curated by Isabel Casey, Lisbon (PT, 2022), ’Painting Graduates 2018.19 & 2019.20’, SNBA, Lisbon (PT, 2021); ’Os Paraísos não são todos iguais’, Faculdade de Belas-Artes Universidade de Lisboa, Lisbon (PT, 2019); and ’Winterwerkschau’, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Weimar (DE, 2019).
