Daniel Barretto (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1976) Curator. Lives and works between Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro. Currently doing the PhD in Contemporary Art of the Colégio das Artes, University of Coimbra, Portugal. He holds an MA in Literature from Pontíficia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Curator of the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, since 2010, currently on leave to attend his PhD. At the MNBA he was responsible for the collections of Sculpture, African art and New Media. He also has been involved in several curatorial projects of the museum. Among the projects, the exhibitions ‘Josely Carvalho - Diário de Cheiros: Affectio’ (2019) and ‘O Espaço da Arte’ (2018).
